CALL FOR PROPOSAL
Establishment of GAIA Clubs and Facilitation of GAIAthon'25 Across African Universities

Edenway Foundation, in partnership with GMES and Africa Marine and Coastal Consortium West Africa, is dedicated to building capacity of young people in Earth Observation (EO) and the Internet of Things (IoT). This Call for Proposal seeks to engage a consultant to support the expansion of Edenway Foundation's GAIA Clubs and ensure the successful organisation of the 2025 GAIA Innovation Challenge (GAIAthon '25), aimed at enhancing youth skills in IoT and EO across Africa.
Scope of Work
The selected consultant will be responsible for carrying out the following key activities:
1. University Identification and Engagement: Identify at least three universities within each of the five blocs of Africa (North, East, South, Central and West) and initiate contact with university authorities to assess their interest in hosting a GAIA Club.
2. Acceptance and Formalisation: Engage university leadership to obtain formal approval for establishing GAIA Clubs, insuring alignment with the institution's objectives and administrative processes.
3. Launch of GAIA Club: Coordinate with university faculty to arrange logistics for hosting Edenway Foundation representatives, plan introductory visits, and oversee the official launch of GAIA Clubs in each university.
4. GAIAthon'25 Facilitation: Collaborate with university teams to organise and promote GAIAthon'25, including marketing the event to students and assisting in the necessary preparations for their participation.
5. Consistent Branding: Ensure uniform branding across all platforms, including the GAIA Clubs and Edenway Foundation websites, social media, and physical event materials.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation: Track and assess the effectiveness of the campaign, adjusting strategies to maximise reach and engagement.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications will ONLY be accepted from private companies, consulting firms, or NGOs registered in any African Union member state. The organization must have:
1. Proven track record in engaging African universities and facilitating youth programmes.
2. Experience building partnerships with universities and stakeholders.
3. Understanding of educational and cultural dynamics across Africa’s five regional blocs.
4. Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the consultant's qualifications, proposed methodology, timeline, experience, and cost-effectiveness.
