Curriculum Development and IoT-Enabled Aquaponic System Design for Youth Training
(EF/GMESA/SC-1/2024)

Edenway Foundation is currently seeking the expertise of a consultant to create an innovative curriculum and to design a model aquaponic system that incorporates Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This project is targeted at training the youth. It aims to significantly bolster local capacities, contribute to food security, and enhance youth employability.
 
Scope of Work
The appointed consultant will be tasked with executing the project across four strategic phases over a four-month contract period. The primary focus will be on Market Research, Curriculum Planning and Development, and the Development of a prototype automated aquaponic system using IoT technology.

1. Conduct a comprehensive market study and develop a specialized Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) curriculum for youth training.
2. Initiate the design and development of modular aquaponic systems, incorporating IoT technology for automation purposes.
3. Develop a strategic plan for engaging youth and local communities, collaborating with educational institutions and industry experts.
4. Conduct pilot tests of the modular systems and collect feedback for improvement.
5. Organize a workshop on aquaponics and digital technology for youth in an ECOWAS coastal community. 

Deliverables

1. An in-depth market analysis of the aquaponics sector and its feasibility.
2. A tailored training curriculum designed specifically for high school graduates and youth.
3. A fully operational prototype with detailed design specifications and operational guidelines.
4. A strategy for involving youth, local communities, educational institutions, and industry experts.
5. Results from the testing of the aquaponic systems, including user feedback and suggestions for system refinement.
6. A comprehensive report on the workshop. .

Eligibility Criteria
1. Proven experience in developing educational programs and technological solutions.
2. Expertise in designing and implementing aquaponic systems.
3. Strong capabilities in community engagement.
4. Experience in conducting market research and applying findings to develop actionable plans.
5. Proven track record in organizing workshops and training programs.
